Happy New Year

Hello everyone and Happy New Year to all. It is not only the start of the New Year but it is also the start of the Winter quarter here at Berkeley College. Currently i am sitting in my Forensic Science class waiting for the class to begin. It is annoying that classes on Tuesday start at 6:25 but we all have to make due. I hope everyone had a great New Year, mine was particularly quiet as it always is, such is the life of having kids. I actually had to work New Years Eve but lucky for me we got out at 3pm so i was home in no time. I am now gearing up for this semester with a new attitude and a new resolve especially since i had my worst academic semester last semester i am eager to get back to work. As stated in a previous post i am going to be subjecting myself to a lot of work as i not only have to study for the classes in Berkeley but i am also studying for my CCNA and my GMAT. This will be tough not only on my but also my family as they rarely see me as it is and it is very difficult not to want to play with my children as they along with my wife give me motivation to keep going. It is not easy being full time at work and in school and i know there are many other Continuing Education students that are in the same boat. So those that are with me i salute you and encourage you to continue to push through to graduation.

As previously stated i am currently sitting in my forensic science class awaiting for the class to begin. This semester i am taking, organizational behavior, advanced database management and my internship which just so happens to be my job. I am especially eager because if i get an A in that class it is a 5 credit course so it should boost the GPA a bit. Forensic science looks to be fun and i hope the professor is good and entertaining as with most sciences it can get very boring very quickly if not taught right. It is going to be a long night and i hope the soda i am drinking will at least get me through half the class or at least until the break if we get one. The easiest class i think, besides the internship will be the advanced database management as it is simple Microsoft Access work and i intend to get all or most of it done by the first few weeks. The biggest obstacle i see this semester is that i will be undergoing surgery for the tears in my meniscus's that i obtained while on the job. I will probably miss at least two weeks of school and i am hoping that does not set me back from all the work i will be missing. my goal is for every class to find a friend or familiar face that i can get any important information from. Forensic science is taken care of because i have a long time friend and classmate of mine in the class.

On top of all that is going on i still have the responsibility to blog for Berkeley and i intend to do so with all my energy. I know i say it every year and every semester so i understand if most don't believe me but only time will tell. I intend to treat blogging as a discussion board assignment for one of my classes. Figuring i am going to be online, i might as well make an extra effort to post, the biggest issue i have is finding things to write about, so i am asking all of you, students and faculty a like to help out. Is there any questions or topics that you want me to discuss besides the day to day musing of my life and stay here at Berkeley? To the Faculty, the bloggers are an excellent way to get events and other things out to current and prospective students, let me know and i will post it. That is it for now and i will see all of you again at the end of the week.
